Sandy Spring Friends School rebounds after a closure scare, reporting strong academics, achievements, and high re-enrollment.

SANDY SPRING, MD, UNITED STATES, April 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- One year after facing possible closure due to financial challenges, Sandy Spring Friends School is reporting strong progress across academics, athletics, and community engagement.

Following a $15 million pledge from supporters in 2025, the school remained open and has since seen renewed momentum. Recent highlights include a championship win by the school’s Quiz Bowl team, athletic successes, and student achievements in speech, debate, and college admissions.

“We’ve come a long way in a short time, thanks to the incredible support of our community,” said Eduardo Polon, Quiz Bowl coach and department head.

The school also reports strong re-enrollment, with approximately 90% of families planning to return for the 2026–2027 academic year, along with continued interest from new applicants.
